Bagpipes & Sword Limbo at Stockbridge Farm Wedding

Sophie and Jamie
Dorset has to be one of my favourite counties for rural weddings, I adore the drive there through all the lovely winding lanes with the scenic views over the countryside. It really appeals to my love of travel, even though I haven’t left the UK!
Sophie and Jamie had chosen rustic countryside meets Parisian chic styling for their day (Sophie’s Grandmother is French). There was also a little Scottish flavour thrown in with tartan clothing and bagpipe playing after the speeches. The mixture of influences made for a beautiful day, the floral decoration in the barn was just breath-taking. Jamie and Sophie had visited the flower market with his sister Tattie to choose the flowers but much of the barn décor was a surprise created by Tattie and her team at Tattie Rose Flowers.
The weather was beautiful and the day was full of fun and laughter. The bridesmaids arrived at the church in a jeep and the ushers travelled in the back of a pick up truck. Sophie and Jamie were travelling from the church to Stockbridge Farm in their little red convertible which they found filled with balloons when they left the church. They had to pop every balloon since the ushers had told them the keys were hidden in one of them!
The first dance has to be the most energetic first dance I’ve seen. They’d chosen The Beatles ‘Twist and Shout’ and practiced their dance just twice in the muck heap next to the barn a few days before the wedding. Their third performance was in front of all the guests and it set the scene for a wonderful night of fun on the dance floor.
