Surrey Garden Wedding With Rustic Charm and Fun Party Spirit

Georgie and Jamie’s Rustic Country Wedding

 Guildford Wedding Photography

Georgie and Jamie’s wedding was an extra special wedding for me to photograph, Georgie’s sister Harriet has been my best friend since school and I’ve known the whole family for as long as I can remember.

The wedding was very much a family affair with a marquee in the field of Georgie’s fathers home and the portraits at the home of a family friend who has beautiful views over the Surrey hills. Georgie’s twin sisters Harriet and Sam and younger sister Frankie were bridesmaids along with Jamie’s sister Alex and best friends Eliza and Sarah. As well as her bridesmaid duties Frankie also did Georgie’s makeup. Georgie looked stunning in a very glamourous lace trimmed dress.

The wedding day was very relaxed with a rustic theme, fortunately the morning’s heavy rain passed and left the rest of the day dry and bright with a few dramatic clouds in the sky. It was a day filled with fun and laughter and familiar faces that I had met over the years but not seen for such a long time.

I’m not sure if it’s because I know the family so well, or whether they were more emotive than usual, but I was close to tears several times during the speeches. I was also close to tears later on at the party, although they were tears of laughter at seeing so many Georgie and Jamie faces on the dancefloor. Eliza, the maid of honour (whose wedding I can’t wait to photograph in Florence next year), had made paper cut out heads of Georgie and Jamie and all the guests were wearing them as they danced!

A perfect fun ending to a wonderful day with some very special people!

I love to hear which photos are the favourites of my wedding couples, Georgie had three favourites, the first she choose because it summed up her happiness on the day, the second she chose for the beautiful moment captured with her close family and the third she thought perfectly captured the rustic theme of the day.

Jamie was unable to narrow down a selection of favourites saying instead that “I love all of the pictures you captured of our guests. It feels like you managed to track down everyone who was invited and the subtle approach you took to photographing them in a very relaxed environment was brilliant. The day was such a whirlwind for me and we only got to spend a short time with each guest so it is really nice to be able to look back and see their faces and who was interacting with who!

Here are some of my favourites from the day that tell the story perfectly.
